The Fourth Annual Healthy Living Expo will be Saturday, April 18, at the Mesilla Valley Mall, 700 S. Telshor Blvd.
The event, which features dozens of local health-related businesses and organizations, takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants will provide information and demonstrations at the fourth annual Healthy Living Expo, at Mesilla Valley Mall.
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Care Van will also be in the mall parking lot, providing blood testing and glucose screenings.
Scheduled demonstrations include a fashion show from Scrub Fashions, which features the latest in scrub wear for the medical industry. Katharoz, a Las Cruces cosmetics store and salon, will do makeovers.
Have concerns with your ears, eyes or teeth? There will be experts of all sorts available to meet and talk with.
Outside the mall, in the parking lot, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Care Van will be available to provide blood pressure checks and glucose screenings.
The Care Van travels the state, and collaborates with community and state organizations to provide basic health services such as immunizations, flu shots, diabetes outreach, obesity information, or basic dental screenings at schools, health fairs, community events or festivals.
In 2008, the Care Van program provided services to more than 2,000 children and administered over 5,200 immunizations throughout the state.
As of press time in late March, 29 different businesses and organizations had signed up for the Expo, with more participants expected.
The event is sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, Healthy U magazine and the Las Cruces Sun-News.
