Albuquerque, New Mexico, December 29, 2008 – Duane L. Ross, MD, has been appointed to the Medical Directorship of BlueSalud, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) Medicaid Program. In addition to his current responsibilities, Dr. Ross will be responsible for the development, implementation and administration of corporate medical policies as related to the Medicaid program. Dr. Ross will also maintain and enhance effective relationships with physicians, hospitals, and other health providers working with the BlueSalud program. He will also serve as a liaison with the other Managed Care Organizations to ensure cooperation with quality and utilization initiatives for Medicaid.
Dr. Ross received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Cornell University. He received his medical degree from Howard University School of Medicine, and completed his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City, NY. Ross is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ross is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine as well as a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Ross has been with BCBSNM since 2005 and serves as the Medical Director of Government Programs.
