Albuquerque, NM, August 8, 2003 - Blues musician W.C. Clark will perform two concerts in New Mexico.

On Thursday, August 14, he will play his unique brand of Texas blues in Albuquerque starting at 6 p.m. on the Fourth Street Mall (Tijeras stage) as part of the Downtown Thursday Nights Event organized by the Downtown Action Team.

On Friday, August 15, W.C. Clark will play in Los Alamos as part of the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series organized by Gordon's Records and Tapes. The concert will start at 7 p.m. in the Mari-Mac Shopping Center.

Both concerts are free and are sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico. W.C. Clark has been featured in recent BCBSNM advertising, where he shares his positive, personal experience with Blues insurance.

W.C. Clark has been playing the blues since he was a child, and for a long time was known as "Austin's Best Kept Secret." He's worked with a long list of great musicians. In the 1970s, he was actively recruited by Stevie Ray Vaughn. While playing with Vaughn in the Triple Threat Revue, he co-wrote "Cold Shot" which became one of Vaughn's biggest hits.

Clark began releasing his own albums in 1986 and recently released a new album, From Austin With Soul, his Alligator Records debut. "W.C. Clark has it all… everything from good old rock 'n' roll and gritty roadhouse R&B to strutting Memphis soul, second-line funk and contemporary blues," according to Living Blues.

BCBSNM is delighted to bring W.C. Clark to central New Mexico for these two free performances. Booths with refreshments and other goods are available at both locations, so bring your chairs and come hear some great Texas blues with the New Mexico Blues!

For more information on the concerts, please contact Lydia Ashanin, Community and Media Relations Manager, at 505-816-4292. For additional information about W.C. Clark, visit www.wcclark.com.
