New President Named at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico
Albuquerque, NM — Kurt Shipley has been named the new president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, it was announced today. As president, he will be responsible for sales, marketing, health care management, network operations, government and community relations. Shipley has led the health plan on an interim basis since the retirement of its previous president. He first joined the company in 1991. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico is a division of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the country's largest customer-owned health insurer.
Before becoming interim leader in New Mexico earlier this year, Shipley served as vice president of New Mexico Programs and Network Management. Prior to joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, he was responsible for internal and external financial reporting at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Colorado. He is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Brigham Young University.
