BCBSNM Drug List

BCBSNM goes by a list of approved drugs. The list is called a "drug formulary" or "drug list." The list is created by a group of providers and pharmacists. BCBSNM will pay for medicines on this list.

Certain drugs on the list need prior authorization. Your doctor will need to send BCBSNM a request before these drugs can be prescribed. If your doctor wants you to have a drug that is not on the list, he or she can send a request for approval to BCBSNM.

Pharmacies

BCBSNM contracts with most pharmacies. You must get your drugs at a contracted pharmacy. Locate one of these pharmacies using the link below. You can also call Customer Service at 1-866-689-1523 to find a pharmacy close to you.

The BlueSalud Plan includes Rx benefits. These are administered by a pharmacy benefits manager (PBM). Prime Therapeutics* is the PBM for BCBSNM.

Getting to Your Appointment

BCBSNM contracts with LogistiCare® for transportation services.* This includes rides to and from your doctor's office or a health care facility. You must be receiving covered services. LogistiCare will make sure your medical needs are approved before arranging the ride.

Trips must be medically necessary. Examples include rides to:

  • Doctor appointments
  • Counseling
  • Dialysis

You can only use this service for medical needs. Rides to go shopping or to visit a friend are not covered.

Transportation is for BlueSalud members who have no other way to get to a doctor. This means you cannot walk, use mass transit, or drive yourself. If you can take yourself to the doctor, you must do so.

Non-Urgent Dental Care

A non-urgent dental problem is when you have symptoms but don't need to see a dentist the same day. Non-urgent dental problems should be seen within 14 days.

Routine Dental Care

Routine care is a regular dental check-up. Or it's a dental condition that is not causing problems or pain. You should be seen within 60 days of your request for routine care. If your dentist cannot see you within 60 days, call Customer Service.
