Our Position on Key Health Care Issues

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico has created a series of Point of View statements that express our position on key health care issues. These statements describe our core beliefs and approach on high-priority topics, and provide a brief overview of the marketplace.

Customer Ownership  Unlike a stockholder-owned company, a customer-owned company enjoys perfectly aligned interests.
Medical Care Management  Effective medical care management can help increase employee productivity, drive more appropriate utilization of health care resources and have a positive impact on health care costs.
Metabolic Syndrome  Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) places people at high risk for developing diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other debilitating illnesses. It also jeopardizes the health and productivity of employees.
Wellness  The wellness movement presents a strategic opportunity for employers to improve employee health and productivity, while also addressing rising health care costs.
