Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is pleased to offer a maternity program for moms-to-be to better understand and manage their pregnancies.
The Special Beginnings program is available to all BCBSNM members whose plans include maternity benefits. Available at no additional cost, Special Beginnings supports you from early pregnancy until six weeks after delivery through:
- Pregnancy risk factor identification and ongoing communication/monitoring
- Educational material covering pregnancy and infant care topics
- Personal telephone contact with program staff
- Assistance in managing high-risk conditions such as gestational diabetes and preeclampsia
