ANSI v5010 Transition Cutover Dates Extended
To maintain compliance with HIPAA-standard transaction requirements and ensure that we meet the federal deadline, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is transitioning to the ANSI Version 5010 transaction format, as follows:
- Effective June 2, 2012, BCBSNM will no longer transmit ANSI 835 electronic remittance advice (ERA) transactions in the v4010A1 format. If you have any concerns about being able to process v5010A1 835 ERA files from BCBSNM on or after June 2, 2012, please contact our Electronic Commerce Center at 800-746-4614 for assistance.
- Effective May 19, 2012, at 9:00 p.m., BCBSNM will no longer accept ANSI 837 electronic health care claim transactions in the v4010 format.
The new federal ANSI v5010 standard became effective on January 1, 2012. If you have not converted to ANSI v5010, contact your practice management system vendor, billing agent and/or clearinghouse to confirm timely adoption and system compatibility..
