iEXCHANGE Extension Request Alerts

If you attempt to extend an existing preauthorization request on the iEXCHANGE® Web-based application and receive an alert message stating your request cannot be extended, please contact the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) Health Services department at 800-325-8334 to submit your extension. Follow the prompts for transferring to our Managed Care Unit in order to speak with a representative. Please have your request ID handy.

Please note that the fact that a service has been preauthorized/pre-certified is not a guarantee of payment. Benefits will be determined once a claim is received and will be based upon, among other things, the member’s eligibility and the terms of the member’s certificate of coverage applicable on the date services were rendered.
