Are there any age restrictions for Children's plans?
Age restrictions vary from plan to plan.

  • For unmarried children covered under a BCBSNM Family policy, the issue age is from birth to age 25.
  • For most BCBSNM Child-Only policies, the issue age is from birth through 17 years old.
  • For a temporary Child-Only policy, the issue age is 60 days old through 17 years old.

The child must be a permanent resident of New Mexico and a United States citizen. A parent or court-appointed guardian must sign the application on behalf of the child. When enrolling online, each child should be entered on the quote separately.
