Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Announces New Board Members
Albuquerque, NM – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) has appointed two new members to its Affiliate Board of Directors. Joining the board are John B. Gratton, President of New Mexico State University in Carlsbad, and Catherine (Kate) M. O'Neill, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Emeritus/Special Assistant to the CEO and Professor at University of New Mexico Taos Branch.
"Drs. Gratton and O'Neill both bring community experience and knowledge to our board," states Kurt Shipley, President of BCBSNM. "We are delighted to have them join our organization and they will add valuable perspective to our Affiliate Board."
John Gratton, Ed.D, oversees all college budget processes, employees and operations at New Mexico State University in Carlsbad. From 2005 to 2012, he was the Vice President for Instruction at New Mexico Junior College, serving as the college's chief academic officer. He is the Past President of the Carlsbad Rotary Club, President of the Carlsbad Hospital Board, Vice President of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Leadership New Mexico Curriculum Committee.
Catherine O'Neill served as the CEO at University of New Mexico Taos Branch since 2006, where she was responsible for finances, facilities, human resources, curriculum and student services. Dr. O'Neill will continue as CEO Emeritus moving forward. O'Neill received her Master of Education and Doctor of Education from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She was named a Top New Mexico CEO by Albuquerque Business First in 2015. She was a member of the 2015 Leadership New Mexico Core Class and has served as Vice President of the New Mexico Association of Community Colleges.
