Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Donates Multi-Sport Court to South Valley Academy

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) donated a Multi-Sport Court to South Valley Academy (SVA), a college preparatory public charter middle and high school in Albuquerque that serves more than 650 students. BCBSNM, SVA and volunteers from the community built the new Multi-Sport Court in one day in place of the outdated court at SVA. The Multi-Sport Court will provide the community with space for a wide variety of sports, including basketball, soccer and volleyball. SVA is a community school that opens its campus to local organizations for community use which will now include use of the Multi-Sport Court.

The new Multi-Sport Court at SVA is part of an effort led by BCBSNM with help from KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids the childhood they deserve through play. Since 2012, BCBSNM has donated five playgrounds, 16 Imagination Playgrounds and now one Multi-Sport Court to communities throughout New Mexico.
