ALBUQUERQUE — For 33 years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) employees have raised funds for New Mexico students through Operation Back to School, an employee-driven campaign to provide supplies students need to excel in the classroom. This year, Operation Back to School raised over $8,000 to support students across the state.
“We understand that many New Mexican families are unable to buy everything their child needs each school year,” said Janice Torrez, BCBSNM president. “Operation Back to School helps bridge the gap and provides basic items for some of the most vulnerable students across our state.”
For more than three decades, Operation Back to School has partnered with Title I schools, focusing on elementary schools in rural New Mexico. Between July 27 and Aug. 17, BCBSNM employees will deliver supplies to:
- Memorial Elementary (Deming)
- Los Padillas Elementary (Albuquerque)
- Alvis Elementary (Clayton)
- Milan Elementary (Milan)
- Tatum Elementary (Tatum)
We invite you to join a delivery in your area and learn more about the Operation Back to School initiative.
