Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Receives Notification of Intent to Award Turquoise Care Contract

ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) has notified Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) of HSD’s intent to award BCBSNM a Turquoise Care contract for 2024.

“We are proud to continue serving our Medicaid members,” said Janice Torrez, BCBSNM president. “We have a longstanding commitment to increasing access to high-quality, cost-effective, equitable health care in our state, which includes addressing critical health needs and social determinants of health. We’re proud to provide innovative programs and services to help improve health outcomes and reduce disparities for New Mexico’s Medicaid population.”

BCBSNM has participated in the state’s Medicaid program since 2008. Nancy Smith-Leslie, chief executive officer of BCBSNM Medicaid, will spearhead implementation efforts over the next several months. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with HSD, providers and community partners to once again provide the best care and highest quality of services across our state.”
