Provider Data Management: New Application Available to Update Your Information Online
Keeping your practice information up-to-date with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is important for many reasons, such as helping to ensure our members have access to correct contact information and other details when they are viewing your listing on our online Provider Finder®.
To help make it easier for you to update your information quickly and efficiently, we’re pleased to introduce Provider Data Management (PDM), a new service accessible through the AvailityTM Web Portal. BCBSNM providers who are registered with Availity may use PDM to update, validate and confirm the accuracy of their organization’s information on file with BCBSNM.
You will continue to have the option to request informational changes by filling out the online forms in the Network Participation/Update Your Information section of our Provider website at bcbsnm.com/provider. As an alternative, PDM is now available for you to request the same updates, all within your daily workflow as an Availity Web Portal user.
What types of updates can be completed through PDM?
Information changes and provider demographic updates can be made through PDM, as long as a new contract is not required to support the change (for example, a Tax ID change is not appropriate for PDM). Here are some examples of updates that can be completed through PDM:
- Organization's business name, addresses, and hospital affiliations
- Individual provider’s personal information, addresses, and hospital
- Languages spoken
- Hours of operation
- Contact information for physicians and key staff members
PDM is accessible to existing Availity Primary Access Administrators (PAAs) and users assigned the Provider Data Management role. If you are not an Availity registered user and would like to use this application, sign up today at availity.com.
First-time PDM users are required to complete a one-time attestation for each individual provider within the group’s organization. After the initial attestation is finished, confirmed and submitted, a Delivery Status is returned to acknowledge authentication by BCBSNM. For large provider entities, this attestation process could be time consuming. Therefore, future PDM enhancements are planned to allow larger organizations the capacity to update, verify and attest to the accuracy of their information.
