Attention Current iEXCHANGE Users
Effective Sept. 14, 2012, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) completed the scheduled upgrade to iEXCHANGE®. This online tool will now support submission of preauthorization requests and online approval of benefits for select outpatient services, in addition to continuing support of inpatient admissions. Provider webinars are currently taking place to review the application changes as a result of this upgrade.

- Availity® single sign-on users will be automatically redirected to the updated application
For Cases Submitted Prior to Sept. 14, 2012
To request an extension for an inpatient preauthorization request submitted to BCBSNM prior to Sept. 14, 2012, please call the number on the back of the member’s ID card.
If you need to submit a treatment search or treatment update search request, proceed as follows:
- Return to the Starting point page
- Select additional payers to continue
- Choose payer: Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico - prior to 09/14/12
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Option Now Available
Our new telephone-based option has also been added to our IVR system for submission of preauthorization requests and receiving approval of benefits for select outpatient services and inpatient admissions. The new application offers both voice-activated and touch-tone telephone options for preauthorization. To access the IVR system, contact Health Services at 800-325-8334 and follow the prompts for preauthorization requests.
Please note that the fact that a service has been preauthorized/pre-certified is not a guarantee of payment. Benefits will be determined once a claim is received and will be based upon, among other things, the member’s eligibility and the terms of the member’s certificate of coverage applicable on the date services were rendered.
