New Mexico House Bill 53 (2023) requires that contracted providers, DME suppliers or other suppliers are monitored by carriers, such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, to ensure that they deliver equipment, appliances, supplies, insulin and other prescription drugs to members in a timely manner and when needed by members.
BCBSNM will be reaching out to impacted providers and suppliers to discuss new requirements for quarterly reporting to include information on deliveries and their timeliness. Any providers with questions are encouraged to review HB 53 and/or contact their assigned BCBSNM provider representative.
