Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico and the Zuni Youth Enrichment Project are working together to ensure that Zuni youth have healthy and safe programs to continue the traditions of Zuni culture as they grow into adulthood.
Launched in 2009, the Zuni Youth Enrichment Project provides year-round programming to more than 1,000 kids each year focused on physical activity, cultural connection, community and more. With the help of community members, the nonprofit provides kids with trails, community gardens and a youth center to help Zuni kids learn, make friends and explore their lands.
BCBSNM has invested in ZYEP through its Blue ImpactSM program, which awards major grants to nonprofit organizations helping address social and economic factors that affect health.
