Early intervention services are available to members at no cost through the New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department’s Family Infant Toddler Program. We encourage you to share information about the services with members, when appropriate.
FIT: This program provides early intervention services to children from birth to age 3 years. Criteria for the program include:
- Infants and toddlers who have or are at risk for a developmental delay or health concerns
- Infants and toddlers with an established condition
- Infants and toddlers with a medical risk
- Infants and toddlers with social risk factors or concerns
The services covered by the program are:
- Occupational therapy
- Physical therapy
- Family service coordination
- Social work
- Developmental instruction
- Speech and language therapy
- Behavioral therapy
- Feeding and nutrition support and services
- Activities to develop learning skills
- Activities to help social and emotional development
- Transition into school or other services as needed at age 3 or when graduating from the program
Referral: Any child is eligible for the program and can be referred by medical providers. Call 877-696-1472 or refer directly to an early intervention location.
