You are required to register with the New Mexico Health Care Authority by July 1, 2026, if you provide and bill claims for Turquoise Care services. You can register through YES.NM.GOV if you aren't currently registered.
The following providers must be registered:
- All providers submitted on the claim must be registered, included but not limited to, pharmacists, referring, rendering, ordering, prescribing, attending physicians, those practicing within group practices, hospital systems, facilities, behavioral health agencies, Indian Health Services and other organizational providers
- Solo providers type 1 National Provider Identifier
- Groups type 2 NPI (includes ancillary, facility, professional)
- Individuals within a group
- Providers with multiple NPI numbers who render services to Turquoise Care members must register each applicable NPI number
- Atypical providers who are not required to have an NPI but are required to register (personal care services, environmental modification)
Regardless of your participation status with a managed care organization, HCA requires you to be enrolled in order to receive Medicaid reimbursement.
If you are already registered, re-registration is not required. You should ensure that each practitioner in your practice is registered. All enrollment information must be updated on YES.NM.GOV.
Next steps
- Review your roster of all clinicians rendering Medicaid services.
- Confirm that each rendering provider is individually enrolled in Medicaid.
- Submit a provider enrollment application for any rendering, ordering or prescribing provider not currently enrolled.
