We are supporting our Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico members and the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance’s emergency order for carriers to provide help and relief to members impacted by the wildfires.
The order applies to our fully insured members. We’re working with our self-funded clients to determine if they want to opt into the order’s relief.
The order applies to members who reside in Lincoln County or the Mescalero Apache Reservation. The ZIP Codes currently affected are: 88312, 88316, 88345,88346, 88355, 88340.
We are extending the following relief from the OSI emergency order to our impacted members and groups, as applicable, for 120 days, beginning June 18:
- Providing a grace period for premium payments and six-month payment plan
- Waiving cost-sharing and deductibles
- Postponing cancellations and non-renewals
- Waiving time limits for early prescription drug refills
- Allowing replacement for lost-damaged medication
- Waiving frequency limits to permit one eyeglasses/contact lens set, hearing aid, dentures/prosthodontics, disposable medical supplies and DME
- Waiving PA for medically necessary services
Spread the word: If you or someone you know has been affected, call the number on your member ID card or 1-800-835-8699. If the ID card was lost, it can be downloaded digitally by logging into Blue Access for MembersSM.
