July 24, 2025
On July 7, 2025, we updated our financial systems to modernize our payment processing technology. Since then, some providers have experienced payment issues. Solutions are underway and are targeted for completion in the coming week. The following issues stemmed from this technology change:
Frequency of payments: If you receive payment by electronic fund transfer, you will continue to receive payments daily. If you receive payment by check and are converting to Zelis payment, payment will follow your Zelis schedule. If you continue to receive payment by check from us, it will be on our usual schedule.
Delivery of ERAs: ERAs are typically available each day for EFT transactions. For payments by check, the ERAs will follow the check disbursement. We have remediated the issue on our side, and all ERAs should now be delivered and current. If you continue to experience delays or if you experience delays in the future, please contact our eCommerce team.
Payer name on payments: The initial payments through our new systems reflected the name of Health Care Service Corporation, rather than Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico. This is now resolved and, as of July 23, 2025, payments reflect BCBSNM as the payer. BCBSNM is a division of Health Care Service Corporation, an Independent Licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
Payment method: Some providers who usually receive EFT payments were inadvertently moved to check or a Zelis payment, which includes ACH+ or a virtual card. We are actively working to correct this issue and expect it to be fixed shortly. If you were charged any fees from Zelis incorrectly, we will work with you to refund those charges. Please bear with us as we work through these transitional issues. The fastest, most efficient and secure method of payment is always through electronic channels.
