In Our Communities
Showing up in our communities is a vital part of our culture. In 2024, more than 360 employees volunteered more than 6,400 hours with more than 190 nonprofit organizations across New Mexico. By logging their hours with our Blue CorpsSM program, they generated more than $18,000 in matching donations for 23 organizations.
Mark Smith, our 2024 Volunteer of the Year, volunteers with several organizations, including Grace Lutheran Church, Special Olympics New Mexico and Rebuilding Together Sandoval County, which builds ramps and decks for people with disabilities.
“A lot of what we do in our work, but also outside of it, is serving our neighbors,” said Smith, an analytics and reporting analyst who volunteered more than 100 hours in 2024. “Not everything we do to serve our neighbors is going to be recorded in the Blue Corps hours,” he tells colleagues. “Serve where you’re needed — just be involved.”
Celebrating Unique Perspectives
Recognizing, respecting and celebrating unique experiences and perspectives helps our employees better serve our members and offer products and services that meet their needs.
In 2024, more than 300 employees participated in one or more of our five Business Resource Groups.
The BRGs provide all employees the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests, fostering a sense of community inside and outside of work. The groups engage in community-focused volunteer activities and provide a critical connection to the business.
