The Blue Distinction Program

Blue Distinction® is a designation given by Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies to health care facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering efficient, high-quality care with proven results, lower readmission rates and fewer complications across 11 areas of care.

Blue High-Performance Network® (BlueHPN®)

Designed to deliver greater value for companies and employees, the Blue High-Performance Network (BlueHPN) gives employees portable access to care across 65+ major markets—more markets nationwide than competitors.

Total Care

Total Care is a national designation program that recognizes providers for their efforts in coordinating total patient care and focusing on wellness and prevention. Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) Plans partner with these providers to improve health outcomes for members and curb the rising cost of healthcare.

Most Total Care programs are primary care models. Providers belong to Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs). The ACOs and PCMHs must perform against both quality and cost outcome targets to receive incentives and rewards.

Employers have the flexibility to provide 2 or 3 configurable tiers or custom benefit designs, effectively steering members to designated providers.

The Blue PPO provides flexibility to your employees through our statewide PPO provider network with a choice of annual out-of-pocket maximums and deductible amounts.

BluePPO Evolution℠

Best Fit: All Groups

Your employees choose their own provider from the most comprehensive provider network in New Mexico and have access to our nationwide provider network through the BlueCard® program.

Explore HMO Plans

The HMO network provides basic care and prescription medication coverage while coordinating with our care specialists for any necessary referrals. Your employees have a choice of Primary Care Providers from a large network of contracting HMO physicians and medical groups.

HMO Blue℠

Best Fit: 51-150 and 151+ Employees

HMO Blue offers your employees a choice of Primary Care Providers (PCPs) and coverage for preventive health services, access to the most comprehensive provider network, and predictable copays.

Blue HMO Network℠

Best Fit: 2-50 Employees

The Blue HMO Network provides basic care and prescription medication and coordinates specialist care with appropriate referrals. Your employees have a choice of PCPs from a large network of contracting HMO medical groups.

Blue Advantage HMO℠

Best Fit: 2-50 Employees

The Blue Advantage HMO offers a broad provider network of contracting medical groups, independent practice associations, and contracting hospitals at a more affordable cost.

BlueNet EPO℠

Best Fit: All Groups

Immediate benefits for the most used services — office visits, exams, and lab tests, without having to meet the deductible and with no referrals required. Preventive care coverage at no cost. Get a choice of deductible, coinsurance, and copay plan options.

BlueNet “H” EPO℠

Best Fit: 51-150 and 151+ Employees

Your employees can choose their own in-network provider. They’ll also have coverage when traveling, including the unique BlueCard® program. The plan also provides comprehensive coverage with simple cost-sharing features, prescription drug coverage, including retail and mail-order services, and additional features.

Blue Preferred EPO℠

Best Fit: All Groups

The Blue Preferred EPO gives your employees the flexibility to select a primary care provider and find specialized care with no referrals required. The plan also provides support and guidance tools to help your employees make informed decisions about their health care.
