BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit Plus Is Now Available

Nov. 4,  2026

Applies to National Accounts, Large, Self-Funded and Fully-Insured Groups*

BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit Plus℠, an added offering of our BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit℠ program, is now available for new, Large Group dental sales (151+ enrolled employees), including fully insured and ASO groups. The program launches for new large groups effective Jan. 1, 2027, and existing large groups renewing Jan. 1, 2027, can also add this expanded benefit.

Why are we doing this? It's part of our broader strategy to increase the market competitiveness of our Dental product, deliver greater value to members and strengthen the integration between our Medical and Dental offerings. The new program will position preventive dental care as an important tool in managing chronic medical conditions.

With the addition of New Mexico, this new option is now available to quote in all five core states.

What’s changing: Members with the following conditions may be eligible for additional dental services, like additional cleaning or periodontal maintenance, an adult fluoride treatment and an additional oral evaluation.

  • In addition to diabetes, cardiovascular disease and pregnancy, eligibility now includes prediabetes, stroke, renal disease, transplant, cancer treatment, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s disease, lupus, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, Huntington’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Groups will also be able to choose an Asthma/COPD buy-up option to provide additional support for their employees with chronic respiratory conditions.

Why it matters: Oral health plays an important role in overall health, especially for members with chronic or complex medical conditions.

How this supports your clients:

  • Increases access to preventive and periodontal care
  • Closes gaps in care
  • Supports earlier intervention and better outcomes
  • Helps manage total health care costs

What’s not changing: The BlueCare Dental Enhanced Benefit program will continue to be offered to groups with up to 150 employees.
