Blue Cross Community Centennial
for Native Americans

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) has been insuring New Mexicans since 1940. We are committed to the well-being of the communities we serve. This includes Native Americans who live on or off tribal lands.

BCBSNM is one of the managed care organizations that offers Medicaid health plans. Our plan is called Blue Cross Community Centennial. It is designed to help meet the health care needs of all New Mexicans. If you qualify for the New Mexico Medicaid program, you can choose to enroll in this plan.

Some of the health programs, services and tools we offer include:

Behavioral health can affect overall health. We want to help members get quality care for their mind and body. This care is meant to help those with:

  • Emotional needs or concerns
  • Mental health diagnosis
  • Substance abuse concerns

The type of service needed depends on the situation. Our Care Coordinators can help. They can help members find out what is covered. They can also let you know if a service needs to be approved before you get treatment. Learn more

Transportation Services

Non-emergency medical transportation is a benefit of the plan. BCBSNM contracts with ModivCareTM for transportation services. This includes rides to and from a health care facility. These services are for members who have no other way to get to a doctor. ModivCare will make sure your medical needs are approved before the ride is arranged. Learn more

Native American Advisory Board

The Native American Advisory Board (NAAB) is a team that can advise BCBSNM on issues related to Native Americans. NAAB plays a key role in helping BCBSNM improve the Blue Cross Community Centennial health plan. We want to know your experience with the health plan and the health care you receive. This board can include health plan members and their family. It may also include appointed tribal representatives and providers. Check the schedule for upcoming NAAB meetings.
